Out of training camp and the preseason, Fraser Minten surprised Leafs fans and the organization with the quality of his play for such a young player. Selected in the second round of the 2022 entry draft and still only 19 years old, Minten played well enough to earn four games with the Leafs this season.

Unfortunately, in those four regular season NHL games, Minten looked like he needed more development. The team sent him back down to his WHL team, the Kamloops Blazers, who seem to be thrilled to have him back. Earlier today, the Blazers announced that Minten will be the captain of the team this season.

In the 2022-23 season with Blazers, Minten posted an impressive 31 goals and 67 points over 57 games. Now back with the team bringing some NHL experience with him, hopefully Minten's game will develop to another level - and he'll use that to lead his team through the season.

Although he was sent back to junior, Minten's incredible run through training camp and the preseason has left an impact on how the Leafs organization and their fans view the prospect. Everyone will heighten their expectations, and hope that Minten can develop into a full-time player for the Leafs in the future.
