Something was noticeably different about the Leafs at practice today, and it wasn't just Nick Robertson. The team was skating in black helmets, pants and gloves. Last season the Leafs wore black as part of their Next Gen uniforms, with the jerseys being designed in collaboration with Justin Beiber's Drew House brand.

Those alternate jerseys appear to be making a comeback this season, which is great news. The uniforms looked incredible last season but were only worn for one game. They definitely deserved more than that. It was also pretty cool that they were reversible. Baseball has rally caps, the Leafs had rally jerseys!

The Leafs have 2 home games left before they embark on a 5-game road trip. It's pretty safe to assume they'll be wearing their black uniforms for tomorrow's game against the Coyotes or Thursday's tilt against the Stars. Hopefully we get to see it more than once this season. If the Leafs have that as well as the rumoured return of the gorgeous 2007 alternate jerseys as their Reverse Retros, this could be one of the Leafs best seasons ever as far as uniforms go.
