Leafs unveil Auston Matthews' epic custom skates for St. Patrick's Day

I love that the Leafs do this every year. The St. Pats uniforms are always gorgeous and, as a goalie gear enthusiast, the green gear is always a must see for me. Joining the Leafs netminders in the tradition of custom gear this year is Auston Matthews. Matthews had a special set of CCM skates made up just for this game and they are absolutely gorgeous.

As you can see, the skates are predominantly St. Pats green, but a closer look reveals some incredible custom details. If you look close, you can see the Toronto skyline, as well as the outline of a green Maple Leafs logo. Written on the skates are his home town of Scottsdale, AZ along with the teams that he has played for, from the Zurich Lions to Team North America to the All Star Game. Completing the look is a sleek looking set of black Step Steel blades that really set the whole thing off. I can't imagine the price these one of a kind beauties will go for at auction, but I may have to throw a bid on them just in case!
