The Toronto Maple Leafs, along with the Detroit Red Wings, Ottawa Senators and Minnesota Wild, have been in Sweden for the past week, taking part in the NHL's Global Series. The Leafs wrap up their week in Sweden tomorrow when they take on the Wild at 2:00pm ET.

Recently, the Leafs were named the NHL's most valuable franchise with a valuation at $2.65B and with that comes some perks. For the Global Series, the two games the Leafs are playing do not count as home games. That means the Leafs host all 41 of their home games at Scotiabank Arena and are able to generate more hockey-related revenue. The Leafs are the only team of the four in Sweden to not have at least one "home" game.

In addition to being able to capture additional revenue in Toronto for all 41 home games, both of the Leafs' opponents play the Leafs in the second of back-to-back games. The Leafs played the Red Wings Friday, after the Wings played Ottawa on Thursday. Tomorrow the Leafs play the Wild, who played the Senators today.

Being the most valuable team in the league clearly has some perks to it, but after all of the inconsistent rulings against the Leafs during games the past few seasons, it only seems fair that the Leafs get some sort of special treatment.
