In what was another very physical affair between the Leafs and Lightning, once again there were some obvious missed calls and some soft calls. One of the most obvious missed calls happened in overtime and unsurprisingly involved Tampa's Pat Maroon.

A few minutes before Morgan Rielly scored the winner for the Leafs, Jake McCabe had played the puck up the boards just outside the Leafs' zone. A few seconds after getting rid of the puck, with his back facing the middle of the ice, McCabe was levelled from behind by Maroon, which sent McCabe dangerously into the boards. At any other time Marion would have been called for interference or boarding, but of course in the playoffs and in overtime it was "missed".

It's not so much that Maroon finished his hit, it was the fact that it was a dangerous hit that wasn't called. McCabe was a few feet off the boards. These types of hits can be series enders and can even be career threatening under certain circumstances. In the end, the Leafs got the last laugh and now hold a 2-1 series lead with game four scheduled for Monday night. It will be interesting to see if Maroon plays or if he's serving a suspension for his dirty, dangerous hit on McCabe.
