Major news regarding Jason Spezza in Toronto
According to Pierre LeBrun, Jason Spezza has tendered his resignation to the Leafs moments before Brendan Shanahan's press conference this afternoon. Spezza was very close to Dubas and was his right hand man this past season. They were often seen sitting next to each other in the press box at games and celebrated the Leafs' first round win together emphatically.
Clearly Spezza was not happy with Shanahan's decision to move on from Dubas. He is not the only one unhappy with the decision as there is plenty of unrest within the Leafs front office.
Spezza was a fan favourite during his playing time with the Leafs and was in line to to make the jump to a more prominent role in either the front office or player development area this season.
Obviously, there are expected to be more changes coming.
