Five days have passed since Lehigh Valley Phantoms defender Adam Clendening clipped Toronto Marlies forward Josh Ho-Sang with a violent head shot, effectively ending Ho-Sang's night early.

The play occurred with just over 8 minutes to go in the third period of their Sunday evening matchup in Lehigh Valley when Ho-Sang was leading a rush into the Phantom's zone, with Clendening cutting across the ice and delivering the check to the head. You can see the play below.

Clendening was not penalized on the play and, surprisingly, there was no supplemental discipline on the play either from the AHL.

After the game, Marlies head coach Greg Moore had stated that Ho-Sang appeared to be okay, but cautioned that they wouldn't know more until after Ho-Sang could be properly evaluated.

Well, I'm sad to say that it's not good news for Ho-Sang, who was been diagnosed with a concussion.

It's embarrassing that the officials did not call a penalty on the play, but even more embarrassing that the AHL felt fine about allowing Clendening to skate away with one.
