Don't look now, but Matt Murray is on a roll. The much maligned goaltender was acquired from Ottawa in the off season amid concerns that he not only couldn't stay healthy, but had lost his game entirely. This season is Murray's chance to prove to the hockey world that he's still got it.

After playing 40 minutes of shutout hockey against the Habs to start his pre-season. Murray was back in action Monday night, this time against a much more potent version of the Habs roster. During the 2nd period, Mike Hoffman and Juraj Slakfovsky broke in on a 2 on 1. Hoffman made a perfect pass to Slafkovsky who one timed the puck on net, giving Murray very little time to react to the play unfolding in front of him. Murray made an incredible diving glove save to keep the #1 overall pick at zero goals this preseason.

If Murray is able to maintain a level of play like this into the regular season, the Leafs will be an extremely hard team to beat. It's early yet, but as of right now, the Matt Murray experiment is looking like a massive success!
