Max Domi and Andreas Athanasiou sign with the Hawks
Per The Athletic's Scott Powers, it appears as though the Hawks have added a pair of wingers who are capable of playing in their top 6, adding free agent forwards Andreas Athanasiou and Max Domi.
Athanasiou played just 28 games in 2021-22, but recorded an impressive 11 goals and 17 points over that span. Domi, on the other hand, split time between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Carolina Hurricanes, playing 72 games, and notching 39 points. Both players will earn $3M on one-year deals.
The Hawks needed a couple of bodies to play big minutes with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane and for Athanasiou and Domi, this opportunity in Chicago could be a good one that will allow them to show what they can do for a team in their top 6. Both figure to be pieces that could be moved at the deadline.
