Max Domi will have some work to do this season if he wants to redeem himself for the things he said and did while he was a member of the Montreal Canadiens. Leafs fans are still haunted by that cursed photo of Max and his father, Leafs legend Tie Domi, dressed head to toe in Canadiens gear. By signing with the Leafs, he's started the process, but to truly earn forgiveness, he'll need to be a better Leaf than he was a Hab.
Domi is off to a good start so far, and in his second pre-season game, he fired home his first goal in a Leafs jersey on the breakaway. After he took a needless high sticking penalty, the Leafs turned the tables with Sam Lafferty finding the back of the net on the penalty kill off of a great play by Matthew Knies to make it 2-1 for the Leafs.
As the penalty expired and Domi exited the box, Conor Timmins fired a dart up the middle before Owen Power could get into position to prevent the pass from reaching its target - a streaking Max Domi. Domi walked in and buried his first of the pre-season top corner on Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.
