Milan Lucic crushes Oilers goaltender Mike Smith along the boards and chaos ensues
Midway through the third period with the Flames down 4-0 all hell broke loose. The Flames fourth line of Lucic, Lewis and Ritchie was on the ice and dumped the puck in. On the dump in, Lucic chased the puck down as Smith came out to play it and they collided. Lucic sent Smith flying into the boards and chaos ensued with all 10 players on the ice getting involved in a scrum.
Lucic was assessed a major for boarding and a game misconduct while Smith was forced to leave for concussion protocol. Lewis, Ritchie, Zadorov, Kassian, Kulak and Barrie were all given minors for roughing following the scrum. The Battle of Alberta has lived up to the hype and then some. Given we're only in game 3, expect some sort of retribution for Lucic in game 4 which he will have no issue answering for.
