Given the amount of information that has leaked from the Leafs over the past two weeks, there have been internal discussions about where they are coming from. According to The Athletic's James Mirtle, MLSE is currently combing through Leaf employees to determine who is leaking the information and there could be a number of firings once they figure out who is responsible.
One pretty wild train of thought is that the people responsible for sharing confidential information are Dubas hires and promotions who are still under contract in Toronto and may wish to join Dubas in Pittsburgh. If they had requested their releases and were denied, is it too far of a reach to ask if they might be leaking information in an attempt to get out of their current contracts with MLSE?
We obviously don't know if that's the case. Just trying to think outside the box here as these leaks were not an issue until Dubas had left the organization.
