Leafs fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing they're not going into Game 6 having to watch the Buds be reffed by Wes McCauley again. That being said, the nerves may not rest still after seeing who tonight's officials will be.
Dan O'Rourke and TJ Luxmore have yet to ref the Leafs this series. However, they are the refs that officiated Game 1 of the Stars vs. Wild with that questionably called hit on Joe Pavelski and were the officials ripped by Nathan MacKinnon following a missed tripping call during Game 5 of the Avalanche vs. Kraken series. Not to say tonight will be a repeat of missed calls such as those, but Leafs fans probably shouldn't hold their breath either.
In an ideal world, officiating for this Game 6 matchup will be similar to that of Game 3 and 4 relatively fair. Hopefully, the buds can close out the series tonight, as we may see a Game 7 reffed by Wes McCauley again.
