Nathan MacKinnon's replacement for the All-Star Game announced
An unfortunately turn of events this week will rob the NHL fans of seeing one of its top talents play in the 2022 Honda NHL All-Star Game, after Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon suffered a serious injury, requiring surgical repair.
MacKinnon suffered the injury after taking an open-ice hit from Boston's Taylor Hall, which sent MacKinnon's own stick into his face, fracturing his cheek and breaking his nose. MacKinnon underwent surgery on Sunday.
Nashville Predators captain Roman Josi will draw into the the ASG in place of MacKinnon for the Central Division. Josi is having an incredible season for the Preds this year, scoring 13 goals and adding 30 assists for 43 points in 43 games.
It's unfortunate that MacKinnon can't go, but it's nice to see that someone as deserving as Josi will be able to attend in his place.
