Well, MacKinnon and the Avs finally won something - the Western Conference and the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl - which they touched at the advice of GM Joe Sakic. MacKinnon was asked today how important winning a Cup is today to cement his legacy and his response, unlike the one he provided the media with last year, appeared to be a shot fired at the media rather than a legitimate answer. He responded by saying, "Legacy? For who? You guys? I'm not worried about that. I'm just having fun."
His answer was in stark contrast to him saying he hadn't won anything in 9 years. I guess he doesn't feel the pressure of winning anymore now that the Avs got over the second and third round humps. The Avs are well rested heading into Game 1 on Wednesday, having 8 days off since dispatching the Oilers in a clean 4-game sweep. The Cup Final should be one of the more entertaining Finals we've seen in years with legitimately two of the best teams in the league going head to head, and I'm sure that Mack will provide us with some more interesting soundbites along the way.
