On July 2nd, Max Domi signed a 1-year, $3M deal to play with the Leafs next season. The deal came on the heels of somewhat of a resurgent season for Domi, who reached the 20-goal mark for the first time since the 2018-19 season. He followed that up with 13 points in 19 playoff games for the Stars.

On Friday, Domi was on Sportsnet 590 The FAN's Drive Time and talked about what is will be like playing for the Leafs and how badly he wanted to sign in Toronto.

"I wanted to wear this jersey for a long, long time and it's been a dream of mine my whole life," said Domi. "I kind of told myself, if I ever did get that call, I wouldn't hesitate to make that decision to play here."

It's a lifelong dream for Max to wear the blue and white like his dad, Tie Domi, did years ago. While they are two different players, Max has his dad's fearlessness and is not shy about dropping the gloves when needed.

Last week, Elliotte Friedman said that Domi was going to do whatever he could to stay with the Leafs long-term, and Domi seemingly confirmed Friedman's report with his comments yesterday. Domi is reportedly going to wear 11 for the Leafs this season, but it will be interesting to see if Sam Lafferty gives up his 28 so Max can wear his dad's number.
