New hockey fighting promotion called ''Ice Wars'' turning some heads
If you grew up a hockey fan over the last 50 years or so, there's no doubt that you've probably sat on the edge of your seat watching two hockey players beat the snot out of each other, surprised at your own thirst for blood. Fighting in hockey has dropped off significantly over the past decade, but it still happens on occasion. When it does, however, it's far less violent than it used to be back in the days of Tie Domi, Bob Probert, Dave "Tiger" Williams, or Dave Schultz.
Nowadays, there are plenty of cage fighting promotions like Bellator and UFC to allow people to watch professional fighters beat the crap out of one another, but it's just not the same as a good old fashioned hockey fight. Well, how about the best of both worlds?
Apparently there is a promotion called "Ice Wars" where two skaters dressed in hockey gear fight on skates in a boxing ring sized skating rink, complete with boards and referees. It's truly something..
