With most of the Leafs settling into their offseason, William Nylander remains at work, competing at the IIHF World Championships with Team Sweden, who skated to a 1-0 victory over Latvia in Group B on Tuesday morning.

Surprisingly, Nylander was very physically engaged in this one, landing several heavy hits on various Latvian skaters, something that typically isn't really in his toolbox. Take a look at some of his finished checks below.

Perhaps Nylander is using the World Championships to take out some of his frustrations over bowing out of round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for a sixth consecutive season. Or maybe he's using this tournament as a way of becoming acclimated to playing a bit more of a physical brand of hockey.

Whatever the reason for Nylander showcasing some of physicality, I think we can all agree that we'd like to see more of this version of William Nylander with the Leafs next season.
