Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Nick Robertson still has two years remaining on his entry-level contract, pulling in just $796K per season. Meanwhile, his elder brother, Jason, just signed a 4-year deal in Dallas worth $31.M (7.75M per season).

A couple short weeks back, Nick was asked by a reporter whether or not he had spoken to his brother about his ongoing contract negotiations at the time, to which Nick replied that he and his brother chatted daily while playing video games online, but that they usually just talked about "where the bad guys are". Can this kid get anymore wholesome?

Well, on Friday, Nick was asked by the media about his brother and his new deal in Dallas. His response was about as "little brother" as it could get.

"He's buying every dinner from now on."

Nick is hoping to follow in Jason's footsteps this season, after his brother has put together two very productive seasons back-to-back in Dallas. In 2020-21, Jason notched 17 goals and 45 points in 51 games for the Stars, following that up with a 41-goal, 79-point season in 74 games in 2021-22.

If Nick can put that excellent shot to work for the Leafs this season and rack up the points at a pace similar to his brother over the last two seasons, we could see the 21-year-old cashing in with the Leafs in the summer of 2024-25, which also happens to be the same year that Auston Matthews and William Nylander are due extensions.
