The Edmonton Oilers suffered a controversial loss to the St. Louis Blues on Thursday, thanks to an overturned Connor McDavid OT goal, but that wasn't the only wild occurrence in the game.

During the second period, Oilers winger Kailer Yamamoto has been issued a penalty for holding, but on his way to the box, he appeared to have some words for referee Kyle Rehman. Rehman did not seem too enthused about what Yamamoto had to say and promptly and clearly announced for all to hear that he was wearing a mic and Yamamoto had better be careful.

It's not often that you see something like this and Rehman's stern warning drew a reaction from both the hometown fans and from the broadcast team.

While this one isn't nearly as controversial as the infamous Tim Peel hot mic incident, where Peel essentially admitted to trying to manage the game by issuing a penalty that he really had to go looking for, it's still pretty wild to hear a referee deliver a warning for all to hear.
