Timothy Liljegren did not return for the third period of last night's game against the Rangers at MSG in New York. Post-game, Sheldon Keefe said that Liljegren had suffered an upper-body injury and would be re-evaluated on Friday. So, we can expect an official update in the coming days.
During media availability, one Leafs reporter, Sportsnet's Luke Fox, provided an update after he saw Liljegren leaving the room. He noticed that Liljegren had his right hand wrapped when leaving. That doesn't bode well for the Leafs as Liljegren has been arguably the Leafs' best blueliner since they have been without Morgan Rielly, Jake Muzzin and previously T.J. Brodie as well.
Hopefully, it isn't anything too serious and Liljegren misses a minimal amount of time. Liljegren previously missed the opening month of the season after having sports hernia surgery at the start of training camp.
