According to Andrew Peters the Sabres have interest in Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane. With Kane's contract set to expire next summer, the Sabres definitely want to bring the Buffalo native home if he hits the open market.
Patrick Kane, 33, is coming off a season that saw him amass 26 goals and contribute 66 assists for 92 points in 78 games. He led the team in points for the seventh straight year and, has been a massive part of the Blackhawks core since he was drafted first overall in 2007. His skill and veteran presence is definitely something that, would help the Sabres end their eleven season playoff drought.
The Sabres may not get the same Patrick Kane that dominated the NHL in the early to late 2010's, but he's still got plenty of gas in the tan. With John Tavares signing with the Maple Leafs in 2018, could we see Patty Kane going the same route and playing out his last few years for his favourite childhood team? It looks like we might.
