The Florida Panthers drew first blood against the Leafs in their 2nd round series, taking a 1-0 series lead on Tuesday, thanks to a 3-point night from Matthew Tkachuk and an uncharacteristic solid outing from Panthers netminder Sergei Bobrovsky, who stopped 34 of 36 shots en route to a 4-2 win, stealing home ice away from the Buds in Round 2.

Towards the end of the game, the Leafs were awarded a 4-minute double-minor after Sam Bennett clipped Ryan O'Reilly up high with his stick in the final minute of the game. Panthers head coach Paul Maurice didn't argue the call, but he did have a message for the officials, comparing the number of power plays awarded to the Leafs to the number of power plays awarded to his team.

Following the game, Maurice spoke about the officiating, as he often does in his post-game media sessions when the games don't exactly go his way.

"We've just accepted the fact that we will be in the penalty box more than the opponent, only because it's been true the last eight games. So just, tell Sergei [Bobrovsky] to get lots of sleep." - Maurice on the penalty scaling in Panthers games recently

We all know there's no love lost between Maurice and the officials. It's going to be interesting to see how that storyline unfolds throughout the series.
