No one knows exactly where Kane will end up, with some reporting he will head back to the Rangers, while others are reporting he may go home to Buffalo, among other teams. Today, Darren Dreger revealed that Patrick Kane has been spotted in Toronto. Kane has been in Toronto since July according to Dreger, completing his rehab on his hip and will need at least one more month before being able to return to action.
With Kane already in Toronto for at least another month, could the Leafs be silently working behind the scenes to get in Kane's ear about signing in Toronto? It could happen. Kane has said that he would like to play with Matthews in a recent interview with TheScore discussing the 2026 Olympics, "Hopefully, we can get a chance to play together in the future, another big tournament, and have that opportunity." Kane had made similar comments about playing with Matthews for Team USA in the past as well.
The 34-year-old Buffalo native has skated in 1,180 games and registered 1,237 points since entering the league in 2007 with Chicago where he spent his entire career, until he was traded to the Rangers at the deadline last season.
