During his post game presser, Mrazek revealed that was not happy with the start that the Leafs had in the first period and getting down into a bit of a hole early against a Canucks team that has enjoyed a bit of a turnaround recently. That said, Mrazek knew that the goal he allowed in the second period was a bit of a backbreaker.
"I didn't like the third goal.. you know, the important one that I wish I would just put in a different spot and I just put it right on his stick," Mrazek admitted.
"It's always hard when you don't see many shots in a game and then they have a big chance against you, but I think we put a lot of pucks on net today. We created a lot of traffic there and we had some unlucky bounces."
In the case of the first goal, Mrazek felt as though he had been interfered with, but he did not want to commit to giving his full opinion on the play until after he sees the game tape. Obviously, his reaction on the ice told the story, but needless to say, once Keefe found out that the officials had planned to call Mrazek for a trip on the play, he elected to not even challenge for goaltender interference.
"I want to look at it because I thought there was contact on me when he [spun] me around," Mrazek stated. "I'll look at it after the game and we'll go from there."
With the loss, Mrazek moves to 4-1-0 over his last 5 starts for the Buds.
