Player Safety issues suspension to Darnell Nurse for headbutting Kings forward
Last night Darnell Nurse head butted Danault after the play near the end of the second period. At the time, the Oilers were down 3-1 and were on the penalty kill. Nurse was not assessed a penalty at the time of the play.
Today, Nurse had a hearing with the Department of Player Safety regarding his headbutt. Nurse was suspended for 1 game, which will be game 6 tomorrow night in LA. It will leave a big hole on the Oilers blue line given that he plays in all situations and against LA's top line. His absence could be the final nail in the coffin for another disappointing Oilers playoff run if the team can't find a way to collectively cover his minutes effectively.
