Remember this Matthew Knies play if the Leafs come back to win Game 4
The Leafs haven't brought their best effort thus far in Game 4, but there are certainly players who are out there trying to leave it all out on the ice and doing whatever they can to help the team try to come back and win this game. One of those players is 20-year-old Matthew Knies.
Knies has been all over it at both ends of the ice tonight, displaying his speed, intensity, focus and hockey IQ. Through 2 periods thus far, he has notched one shot on goal and one hit, but he also saved the Leafs a goal against on this beautiful play.
Knies continues to impress each and every time he steps out on the ice. It's not an easy transition from the NCAA to the NHL - especially when you consider that we're dealing with the playoffs here. Not only has Knies looked very good - he has often looked like the one of the best players on the ice for the Leafs. If he keeps playing like this in all 3 zones, this kid is going to become a star in this league.
