Report suggests that NHLers will not go to Beijing in February
It seemed all but certain that the rumours were going to start coming out sooner than later, but Spittin' Chiclets announced on Sunday, per a trusted source, that the NHL players will not attend the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing.
The news should surprise absolutely no one, given the spike in positive COVID-19 test results from across the NHL this week, which has led to a high volume of postponed games.
While the Spittin' Chiclets guys are not exactly the folks who tend to break news like this, it does feel like the NHL players will not be going, so I think we're safe to take them at their word in this instance.
Are we headed for a pause to the NHL season next? It certainly appears that way - though the NHL is doing its damndest to limp their way into the Christmas break with the teams who have not yet shut it down for until after Christmas.
