Nick Ritchie made his Marlies debut on Wednesday and even found himself on the scoresheet with a power play goal. While most, I'm sure, would celebrate, Ritchie appeared to almost not care at all.

On Thursday, the slumping winger spoke to Leafs media and did not seem happy about the situation he's in. Ritchie said:

"It's hockey. It's nice to get out and play."

According to Kevin McGran of the Toronto Star, Ritchie was not happy during his availability. It is no secret that based on the reports, Kyle Dubas is currently looking at trading Nick Ritchie.

Things did not work out for Ritchie in Toronto. The 26-year-old forward was given every opportunity to succeed. He got to play on a line with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner and also played minutes with John Tavares. Unfortunately, his play gave the Leafs no choice but to waive him.

It's understandable that Ritchie is upset about where he is at in his career. It seems that the relationship between he and the Leafs organization is quickly souring. Hopefully, for the sake of both sides, a trade can be worked out before the trade deadline.
