Sandin did not report to Leafs training camp as he was entrenched in contract negotiations with the team. With all the injuries piling up early for the Leafs, this was a great time for Sandin to sign with the club, as he will be given lots of ice time with Jake Muzzin, Jordie Benn, Carl Dahlstrom and Timothy Liljegren all out due to injury. Sandin played in 51 games last season putting up 16 points.
TSN insider Chris Johnston reported that the Leafs and Sandin's agent had a breakthrough this week when they met face-to face.
With Sandin locked up for two years, he can now show the club what he's made of. Nice to see the two sides coming to a fair resolution before the end of training camp.
