On Thursday evening, the Leafs and Panthers met for the first time since the Panthers eliminated the Buds in the 2nd round of the 2022-23 Stanley Cup Playoffs. It wasn't the prettiest first period we've ever seen and a lot of the sloppiness had carried over to the 2nd period as well.

During the 2nd frame, we saw Panthers defenseman get away with one, as Dimitry Kulikov gave William Nylander a shove from behind, right in the numbers as Nylander was looking to play the puck, sending the Swede crashing into the end boards and labouring in some pain.

Nylander was very slow to get up after hitting the boards awkwardly and the officials issued no penalty on the play, despite the fact that it's a clear cut penalty. At the start, there was some concern over whether Nylander had hurt his shoulder on the play, but as he collected himself on the bench, it appeared as though it was his neck that was bothering him.

Nevertheless, Nylander remained in the game, but we'll have to keep an eye on Nylander's health status after tonight's game.
