The Toronto Maple Leafs took one of their worst losses of the season last night in Winnipeg, unfortunately they took an even bigger loss to their roster.
While Toronto feel 6-3 to the Jets, the Leafs lost defenseman
Rasmus Sandin and it doesn't look good.
After letting a shot loose near the faceoff circle, Sandin was the victim of an ugly knee on knee hit by Jets' defenseman
Neal Pionk.
No penalty was called on the play and Sandin had to be helped off the ice.
After the game, head coach Sheldon Keefe called out the refs for turning a blind eye to the play.
«It looks to me like it's a five-minute major. It's a knee-on-knee. A guy gets carried,» Keefe said. «Obviously, [the officials] didn't see it. I think if they see it, they probably would've called it differently. The league, I'm sure, will have a look.»
As for how much time Sandin could miss, Keefe didn't have an update.
Check out the play again below, do you think Pionk should be suspended?
