Almost one week ago, the Leafs completed a trade with the Arizona Coyotes to bring in 24-year-old Conor Timmins to help bolster the team's defense corps. At the time of acquisition, Keefe had confirmed that the Leafs would not rush him into game action and would delay his Leafs' debut until he had an opportunity to build some chemistry with his new teammates and learn the Leafs' systems.
Well, after joining the team in Minnesota and sitting out his first 3 games as a Leaf, it appears as though Keefe has seen enough of Timmins to determine that he's ready to make his Leafs' debut.
During Tuesday morning's practice, rookie sensation Mac Hollowell has been shifted down, skating as an extra while Timmins has been elevated to the team's third pair, skating with Victor Mete. We have yet to receive confirmation from Keefe, but barring a last minute change, Timmins could make his debut at home against the Sharks on Wednesday.
The St. Catherines, ON native has played in just 41 games in his NHL career thus far, notching just 7 assists. A big, physical, two-way right-shot defender, Timmins checks a lot of boxes for the Leafs. Hopefully he can put his injury woes behind him and carve out a nice little spot for himself in Toronto.
