Justin Holl has had a very tough start to the season, like most of the Leafs' blueliners. The difference is that when Holl has made an error, it's a glaring one and has usually resulted in a goal against or a dumb, completely avoidable penalty.

Yesterday at practice, Sheldon Keefe pulled Holl aside and the two were chatting for an extended period. Keefe was asked about the chat following Friday's practice and told the media, "Justin likes really direct & honest feedback. We've given him that. Certainly, a little more direct here today because it's been snowballing."

The day prior, Keefe called out the entire blueline saying the team's issues stemmed from them not being able to make a good first pass. The discussion with Holl was like a continuation of that. Hopefully the day of practice and emphasis on defensive zone coverage, exits and first passes will help the Leafs sort out their issues for Saturday's game against the LA Kings.
