Simmonds rocks Sergachev with a high hit and there's concern that Player Safety will look at it
The Wayne Train rolled into Tampa with something to prove on Thursday night, being engaged both vocally and physically all night. While much of Simmonds' attention was on Bolts winger Pat Maroon, the Scarborough, ON native also managed to sneak in a pretty heavy hit on defenseman Mikhail Sergachev.
The hit was a bit of a high one and Simmonds left his feet, so it will be interesting to see whether or not the Department or Player Safety will look at it. I'd imagine there will be a few plays from this game that will draw the attention of George Parros.
Regardless of what the outcome may be and whether or not Simmonds finds himself with a suspension, this is the style of game that Simmonds needs to play to make the type of an impact that he needs to make for his team in the playoffs.
