Some are not a fan of Sens captain Brady Tkachuk wearing Flames gear in support of brother, Matthew
The Sens were nowhere near making the playoffs this season after claiming "the rebuild is over". A bit premature if you ask pretty much anyone else. In a season that saw the team struggle, they did start the season with a bang, by signing Brady Tkachuk to a long term deal and naming him captain.
With the Sens not playing in the playoffs, Brady has taken the opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere as a fan in Calgary along with his dad and HHoF member Keith and the rest of their family cheering on Matthew and the Flames. Keith was known for having a good time off the ice and it appears he's passed that on to both Brady and Matthew. Brady made his first appearance at game 5 of the Calgary/Dallas series and was seen again in Game 7 where he notably put a young fan on his shoulders and ran up and down the stairs celebrating the series clinching goal. At Game 1 of the Battle of Alberta, cameras honed in on Brady and the rest of the Tkachuk family throughout the night. At one point they captured Brady walking up the stairs with a beer in each pocket and one in his hand, living up to his dad's reputation of a good time off the ice.
The mind boggling thing about Brady supporting his brother and the Flames? How many media members think it's unacceptable for Brady to support his brother and wear a Flames promo shirt that has his brother on it. All because he is a Captain of another Canadian team. What's he supposed to do, sit at home? He's wearing a shirt with his brother on it and supporting his brother's team. So what? While media members are saying it's good he's supporting his brother they don't appreciate the «exuberance» he's doing it with. Cry me a damn river folks, he's trying to enjoy himself and just be a fan of the game while he can. Times have changed and the young guys in the league aren't scared to show their personalities anymore for the fear of the «vets» hazing them. He's not doing anything wrong or getting into trouble, maybe the media criticizing him should have a drink themselves and relax.
Note: I can't believe I'm supporting a Sens player
