The Leafs' blueline has faced a bevy of changes this season so far. Some forced due to COVID or injury and some otherwise. The top 3 seems mostly solidified, but the bottom 3 has seen several rotations between Rasmus Sandin, Timothy Liljegren, Travis Dermott and Justin Holl. On top of that, with Jake Muzzin out of the lineup with a concussion over the past two games, Sheldon Keefe has had to break out the blender on a number of occasions. That's why, when Jake Muzzin skated out in a regular jersey on Wednesday, it was cause for some excitement.

Muzzin suffered a concussion 10 days ago in a game against the St. Louis Blues. The 32-year-old defender missed both of the Leafs games in New York but had been practicing in a red "no contact" jersey. That was until the morning skate today.

Jake Muzzin was back in his regular jersey at the Leafs' optional morning skate today, but it remains unclear if this means Muzzin will be in the lineup against the Anaheim Ducks or if this is his chance to get some work in with limited skaters on the ice.

The Leafs' defensive corps is getting closer to full health now as Justin Holl is set to return tonight and Muzzin ditching the red jersey means that he is also getting closer to a return.

Hopefully we'll have more clarity during the team's post-practice media availability.
