With an assist in last night's 5-0 shutout victory against the Los Angeles Kings, Conor Timmins not only recorded his first point as a Toronto Maple Leaf but he also became the 7th member of the Leafs' contingent of Soo Greyhounds alumni to record a point for Toronto this season.

Timmins joins fellow teammates in Michael Bunting, Mac Hollowell, Rasmus Sandin, Wayne Simmonds, Jake Muzzin, and Matt Murray as those who have notched at least one point for the Leafs this season.

While the Leafs are often mocked for their affinity for going after Soo Greyhounds, it seems to be working out pretty well this season. Key contributors - from the Greyhounds - all across the lineup have aided the Leafs on their current stretch where they've compiled only one regulation loss since the end of October.

It was only his second game as a member of the Maple Leafs, after playing 2 games with the Arizona Coyotes earlier in the season following his conditioning stint with the AHL's Tucson Roadrunners. He may not have gotten an opportunity like this with the Leafs right away, but with the injuries piling up on the back end in Toronto, Timmins is playing on the Leafs' third pair with veteran T.J. Brodie and has not looked out of place at all, despite having never played a full NHL season. Timmins is now 24 years old and was drafted 32nd overall back in 2017.
