Sportsnet reporter Shawn McKenzie arrested, jailed in Nashville
According to "ScoopNash", Sportsnet rinkside reporter Shawn McKenzie, son of the legendary Bob McKenzie, was arrested early Saturday morning for public intoxication and criminal trespass after being escorted out of Jason Aldean's Kitchen + Rooftop Bar.
Prior to his arrest, McKenzie was removed him from the venue for "acting rudely". McKenzie insisted that since he had paid for a table, he wasn't leaving. Officers arrived and found him to be extremely intoxicated and verbally argumentative. He was advised he was no longer welcome and needed to leave the location on his own. After leaving on his own, he returned a few minutes later and continued to argue with staff at the bar. Police then placed him under arrest. He was later released on a $200 bond and has a court appearance scheduled for July 1.
Not the most fun way to spend Canada Day weekend if you ask me, but when you play stupid games you win stupid prizes. Hopefully this is a wake-up call for Shawn and it doesn't take away from the career he has built for himself at Sportsnet.
