Terrifying scene in Vegas results in Golden Knights player leaving on a stretcher
Oh man, are the Knights ever going through a rough stretch. Just one day after the voiding of a trade that would have solved a lot of their salary cap issues, 23-year-old forward Brett Howden was injured during their game against the Nashville Predators.
Howden was attempting to dump the puck in into the Predators' zone, while Preds forward Filip Forsberg attempted to lay a seemingly innocuous body check, Howden lost his footing just before Forsberg had hit him.
The result was both players falling into the side boards at high speed with Forsberg sitting on Howden's back. Howden's head and right shoulder took the brunt of the impact as he had no way to shield himself. Forsberg immediately got up to check on the downed Golden Knight.
Howden stayed down while the medical staff attended to him, but early reports indicate that he was awake and communicating with medical staff.
The team here at MapleLeafsDaily wish Brett the best, and a speedy recovery.
