The Florida Panthers continue their busy trade deadline, swinging yet another trade to bring in a defenseman in light of the injury to Aaron Ekblad this weekend.

Per Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, the Panthers are expected to place Ekblad on LTIR, thus opening up a roster spot and a lot of cap relief, allowing the Panthers to strike a deal with the Buffalo Sabres, acquiring defenseman Robert Hagg.

Hagg is a physical defenseman who will certainly help the Panthers in the postseason. He was not brought in to try to fill Ekblad's shoes. Hagg will likely post up on the 3rd pair, while another defender - likely Ben Chiarot - elevates to the first pair.

Hagg joins a particularly nasty Panthers blueline that already features the likes of Chiarot and Radko Gudas. With Ekblad expected back at some point during the first round, the Panthers are not going to be an easy out for anyone.
