The Leafs may have had a forgettable night in Montreal, dropping a 4-3 decision to the Montreal Canadiens in the final 18 seconds of the game on Wednesday, but their home opener on Thursday was certainly an unforgettable one.

Duane "The Rock" Johnson made an appearance at the game to get the crowd going, as he was in Toronto to promote his new DC movie "Black Adam". The Rock came out to surprise the team and the crowd and fire everyone up during a TV timeout, even starting a "Let's Go Leafs!" chant - something Auston Matthews was caught completely off-guard by.

"I was just, TV timeout, kinda minding my own business and I look up and The Rock comes flying out of nowhere. It was pretty cool, he got the building going pretty good. It's pretty cool to see a guy like that come by and obviously get the crowd going... maybe somebody should have told him [about the "Let's Go Leafs" chant]."

Meanwhile, The Rock had a message for Leafs fans after the game, showing gratitude for the fans and the passion that they showed for both him and for the team.

Not going to lie. I grew up as a pretty big wrestling fan at the height of the "Attitude Era", when wrestlers like Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock were at their peak. I fanboy'd out a little bit when Duane came out to fire up the crowd. A pretty special moment to kick off what should be a pretty special season for the Leafs.
