A week after John Tortorella made headlines in Philadelphia by banning iPads on his bench, Toronto Maple Leafs head coach, Sheldon Keefe is taking the opposite stance.

The NHL added the tablets behind the bench in an effort to give a more modern touch for teams to review their previous shifts, give them an idea on what they can improve on in-game, and to use it for feedback. It's no surprise that the 64-year-old Tortorella is not a fan of the new technology, he started coaching at the NHL level in 1989-90. He's always been out-of-the-box, no-filter, and different than most head coaches especially in today's game.

The 42-year-old Keefe on the other hand sees the benefit in using the tablets. He says he doesn't see the need to curtail them from the benches during the game because of the "Instant feedback. It's the world we live in (tech in business, sports at home)". He added that the Leafs try to use them "intelligently" during TV timeouts and not as much during the games as Tortorella alluded to last week, which alters the momentum of the game.

A lot of players, especially the younger ones, enjoy using the tablets and it fits with their generation. They were brought up on flip cell-phones and the iPad Touch that turned into the iPhone and the iPad. Technology has become an important facet in all fields including sports and we've seen that shift over the last decade or so.

Some believe that the tablets are beneficial to the game, to the in-game action, and it's something that you can watch and retain instant feedback to better yourself and your team. Some believe it's a hindrance and it slows down the momentum of the game. What's your take?
