With the start of the 2022-23 season now less than a week away, Leafs fans are dying to know what GM Kyle Dubas has planned to make the team cap compliant. Granted, Timothy Liljegren will likely spend the first few weeks on LTIR, which will buy the Leafs some time, but when he's healthy, the Leafs will need to move someone in order to have the necessary cap space available to activate Liljegren.

On Friday, the inconspicuous absence of Justin Holl sent Leafs Nation into a frenzy - and it wasn't just the fanbase who bought into the trade speculation either. Members of the Toronto media were also wondering what the absence meant for Holl's immediate future.

Following practice on Friday, Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe provided an update that quashed the trade rumours and stopped them in their tracks. Per Keefe, Holl was merely suffering from food poisoning.

The Leafs are in action tonight in Detroit when they take on the Red Wings and again tomorrow back in Toronto to host the very same Red Wings. Given today's update, it seems unlikely that we'll see Holl this weekend.
