The double-standard in this league is a joke; Keefe fined, while another head coach publicly bashed NHL official with complete amnesty

If you count yourself among those who thought that Sheldon Keefe's $25K fine last month for shouting at an official over a brutal non-call was complete and utter crap, you'll probably also count yourself among those who were expecting the NHL to fine Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice yesterday for comments he made about the officiating in Tuesday's Panthers/Leafs game. Well, no such fine was handed out and Leafs Nation has every right to be pissed, as does Sheldon Keefe.

For those who missed Maurice's comments, please direct your attention to the video below, which shows the veteran coach openly accusing one of the NHL officials tasked with calling the Panthers/Leafs game on Tuesday of having a personal vendetta against him. Maurice blatantly called into question the integrity of an NHL official and got off without so much as a slap on the wrist.

This is an absolute joke. The NHL continues to show their favouritism for other teams and openly display an anti-Leafs bias. For the life of me, I can't figure out why the Leafs are okay with this and haven't yet filed a grievance or a motion to dismiss the fine handed down to Keefe. Absolutely despicable behaviour by the league here. One Leafs fan sums up the hypocrisy perfectly:

I'm absolutely at a loss for words. If I were Sheldon Keefe and the Maple Leafs, I'd be furious with how the NHL handled Maurice's comments.
