Leafs summer development camp has been going in full force all week long, culminating in a scrimmage game on Saturday, which will mark the conclusion of the camp. Many of the Leafs' top prospects are in attendance, including 2022 2nd round pick Fraser Minten and 2023 1st round pick, Easton Cowan.

This week was a lot of work for the Leafs' young prospects and camp invitees, but there was a fair bit of fun involved as well, as the players were given a chance to test their culinary skills, compete in a go-kart race, and even visit the CN Tower. The last one was particularly nerve-racking for the 18-year-old Cowan, as he is terrified of heights.

Cowan's fear of heights stems from working on his family's farm growing up, and being tasked by his father with working atop the Cowan family's grain silos. When asked about his trip to the CN Tower, Cowan revealed that he and a few of his teammates visited the glass floor of the tower and actually laid down in an attempt to face their fears.

Cowan was viewed as a bit of a reach when the Leafs selected him at 28th overall in this year's draft, but the more time he has spent on the ice at development camp, the clearer it has become that he possesses some pretty strong tools and a solid work ethic, which should translate well to success at the pro level when he does finally get there a couple of years down the line.
