With the regular season set to kick off next week, several teams are currently taking steps in finalizing their opening night rosters by placing their respective roster cuts on waivers. According to CapFriendly, today's waiver wire includes the Vancouver Canucks, Minnesota Wild, Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Chicago Blackhawks - and the list includes two former Maple Leafs.
The Devils placed 4 players including: Tyler Wotherspoon, Robbie Russo, Joseph Gambardella, and Jeremy Groleau
Amongst the list of players that were placed on waivers today, there weren't any big name players or any shocks and surprises, however there are two formers Maple Leafs in Connor Carrick and Brett Seney. Carrick spent 3 seasons with the Leafs suiting up for 130 games between 2015-16 and 2017-18, while Seney suited up for the Leafs only twice this past season.
