The Vegas Golden Knights quickly disposed of the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final, winning the series in 5 games, including winning Game 5 by scoring 9 goals. As with every team in the playoffs, once they are eliminated or in the Knights' case, win the Cup, the lengthy injury lists come out a few days later. The Panthers had a very extensive list and while the Knights didn't have nearly as many, they did have a few significant injuries, including one to Captain Mark Stone.

Stone was on The Pat McAfee show yesterday and revealed that he broke his wrist in the first period of Game 5 and it required surgery. Stone revealed that he got slashed midway through the first period and when he went to the room to have it examined, trainers determined it was broken. Stone also admitted to "doing a few things" to be able to play through the pain which likely includes having the wrist frozen.

The broken wrist didn't affect Stone's goal-scoring abilities all that much however, as he went on the score a hat-trick in Vegas' 9-3 romp of the Panthers. It also didn't affect his ability to raise the Cup over his head, but admitted it was thanks to the things they did between periods to minimize the pain he felt. This is just another example of why hockey players are the toughest athletes around.
