Wayne Gretzky is reportedly in the process of being sued for MILLIONS
Looks like The Great One has landed himself in some legal trouble. Wayne Gretzky is named as the defendant in a lawsuit centred around a chewing gum company called OMG Gum. The plaintiff, Steven Sparks, claims that Gretzky used his considerable platform to manipulate the company's stock by lying about the product, all while reaping the benefits on the stock market.
Wayne Gretzky is being sued for multi-millions in Los Angeles after lying about a gum product that loses you weight.
The plaintiff, Steven Sparks, says he created a "natural gum used to manage weight" and called it "OMG gum." He says in the suit he eventually hired on Wayne's wife, Janet Gretzky, to be a spokesperson for the product.
The problem, according to Sparks, is Wayne eventually made up a lie about the gum -- saying after he chewed it for roughly a two-month span ... it helped him lose 35 pounds. Sparks alleged Wayne used the lie to boost the company's stock -- "which he surreptitiously purchased under his family's name."
Sparks, claiming he had no idea Wayne was lying about the weight loss, says he reinvested both money and services into the company. But, when Wayne eventually admitted he had fabricated the weight loss -- it caused the company to tank, and hit Sparks HARD in his wallet.

If the claim is true, it's a horrible look for Gretzky. The man may be the greatest hockey player of all time, but if there is any truth to this story, I'd question his moral compass a little bit. Back in 2006, an investigation, dubbed Operation Slapshot, uncovered a massive gambling ring within professional sports that included his wife Janet. Now Gretzky is a spokesman for gambling giant Bet MGM. Certainly a questionable pairing given the aforementioned history with Gretzky's wife.
