In what feels like the longest break between games ever for the Leafs, the hope is that the lengthy gap in action will have provided the Buds with an abundance of rest in preparation for a hard late-season push to lock down 2nd in the division and perhaps 2nd in the overall league standings.

The Leafs have not played a game since February 1st against the Boston Bruins, a 5-2 loss on home ice, so perhaps the rest will have done everyone some good and act as a bit of a reset before the final 30 games are played.

Many Leafs went on luxury vacations during their downtime and I'm sure that others returned home to spend some time with friends and family. For William Nylander, however, it was right back to business the first opportunity he got. Nylander was spotted on the ice at Ford Performance Centre in Toronto running some drills on Wednesday, while the rest of his team was nowhere to be found.

If anyone questions this guy's dedication and work ethic, it might be time to re-think that line of thought. This is just one example of several this season where Nylander is the first one of the ice, the last one off the ice or - at times - the ONLY one on the ice. The results have shown on the ice as well, as Nylander is currently on pace to post career highs in goals and points this season. He currently sits at 28 goals and 59 points in just 52 games.
